Buying in Mexico

Buying freehold property in Mexico is secure and established. Foreigners are able to buy freehold property directly in most parts of Mexico, however close to the International borders (and the coast) there is a restriction on such direct ownership. This is overcome in a similar way to what is commonly done in Europe where the freehold owner becomes the sole beneficiary of a trust which is held in perpetuity by a bank such as HSBC or Bank of Santander.
